Speech that's intelligible, music that moves air, and a show track clean enough to drive the fireworks off.
Sound & PA hire Tasmania
Nobody remembers a great PA. Everybody remembers a speech they couldn't hear. We take the boring reliability part seriously.
MaxFX provides audio production across Tasmania — PA and line array systems, digital consoles, wireless microphones, stage monitoring, DJ rigs and show playback. Whether it's a wedding ceremony in a paddock, a conference in a function centre or a festival main stage, we spec the system to the job and put a competent engineer behind it.
Our Launceston-based crew provides PA and sound hire for northern events, with regular production runs to Hobart and venues across southern Tasmania.
When audio is booked alongside our fireworks, lighting and effects, the show track becomes the master clock for everything. One source of truth, no drift, no operator guessing.

FAQ
How big a PA do I need for my event?
It comes down to crowd size, indoor versus outdoor, and whether you need speech clarity or full-range music with sub bass. Tell us the headcount and venue and we'll spec the smallest system that comfortably covers it — oversized rigs cost more and rarely sound better.
Do you supply an engineer, or is it dry hire?
Both. Most clients take a system with an operator because a mixed show sounds dramatically better. Simple ceremony or speech systems can be supplied set up and ready to run.
Can you handle outdoor events with no power?
Yes. We supply generators and temporary distribution, designed and installed by a licensed electrical contractor, which is common for paddock, foreshore and park events across Tasmania.
Can the audio drive the fireworks and lighting?
That's our preferred setup. Your show track carries timecode, and the fireworks, lighting, lasers and effects all follow it, so every accent in the music has something happening on it.
Tell us the venue, headcount and run sheet, and we'll spec a system and crew that fits.
